My Hot Air Balloon

First let me begin by telling you a bit about me, my team and what we do. My name is Phil Hooper, I am a hot air balloon pilot with a private pilots licence. I live in Bristol in the UK and I own my own hot air balloon.

I have always had an interest with hot air balloons and got involved when I was around 12 and finally trained and got my pilots licence in 2009. I bought a second hand, fairly old, hot air balloon so I can enjoy this sport at every chance that I get, this includes the mornings before  I go and do my day job in an office and weekends as well. We tend to fly mainly around the South West of the UK (Bristol and Bath) but do travel around to different hot air balloon festivals including those in Europe.

Now, on to the reason for this page! I would like to be flying a nice new balloon and with this, help advertise your company name/logo/website (delete as appropriate or circle all of them!).

Advertising can be boring and very rarely is it remembered by the people that see it. For example, can you remember what the last billboard that you drove past this morning was advertising? On the other hand, can you remember the last hot air balloon that you saw flying through the sky? I bet you can remember the company name that was written on the side of it as well! How many photos did you take of that hot air balloon and upload to Facebook/Twitter/Flickr? I’m sure you didn’t do that with the billboard! Why not?!

Hot air balloons are fun and are enjoyed by everyone that sees them, people are always taking photos of them and then sharing them with their friends on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and many more social networking sites. You don’t see photos on Facebook of a newspaper advert now do you!? This is an investment for ongoing advertising every time that it is flown. With an initial costs to manufacture the balloon, the running costs are very minimal.

Design Visual

During a typical flight over the city of Bristol lasting approximately an hour, your own branded hot air balloon could be seen by 30,000+ people – that’s a lot of people that would be taking photos of your balloon, mentioning your company name in the pub and posting those photos on the Internet.

As I mentioned above, I am the holder of a private pilots licence. This means that I am not allowed to make money by charging people for balloon flights, or charging  a sponsor of the balloon each time the balloon is flown. I do the sport for fun as this is my hobby, and I am not looking to make money out of any company or person that would like me to fly their own branded hot air balloon.

There are many, many ways in which you can sponsor us – and of course the costs of each of these vary significantly. As you can see from the image on the right, I am able to get you a design visual of what your very own hot air balloon could look like and this is only limited by your imagination (and of course advertising budget!).
